Innovative Thinking For Your Growing Business
Slovak company formation with accounting services
- Our Business Is Growing Yours
Set up your Slovak company with ease with our English support.
Don’t be put off by the Slovak phone number because we do understand and speak English, Slovak and Hungarian.
We'll set up your Slovak company without you even having to travel to Slovakia.
There is no need to worry about speaking Slovak or having a residence address if the executive director is a citizen of an EU/OECD Member State.
You have everything you need for your Slovak business under one roof:
- We will set up your company and provide you with a registered office, bookkeeping and payroll services, tax representation (and help with the correct VAT registration) and bank account opening.
- All documents we produce are bilingual: Slovak and English or Slovak and Hungarian.
- You also won’t want to miss out on what we pride ourselves on the most: our personalised tax and financial (CFO) advice!
- We care about you and want your business to succeed, which is why we will support you with the best tax optimisation advice!
What are the steps in setting up a Slovak company?
First, you need someone to help you navigate the Slovak bureaucracy – and in English.
Someone you can trust and cares about you.
Anyone whose business is related to Slovakia can be easily relocated or can benefit from relocating to Slovakia. For example, running a hotel in Germany through a company in Slovakia does not make much sense. If you still can’t decide if it’s worth it, contact us, and we’ll be happy to discuss it!
Luckily, the whole process of setting up a company can be done remotely.
Corporate income tax: 15% or 21% of the tax base (not from the profit). Please note that 21% is, in many cases, still less than the 5% used in many countries, as Slovakia provides a number of items that can be used to reduce the tax base.
VAT: 5%, 10% or 20%
Tax on dividends: 7%
The official currency is EUR.
The political situation is stable.
The managing director can be the owner and does not have to be an employee, so there is no payroll tax or insurance. The process is much simpler if the executive director is a citizen of an EU Member State or a member state OECD.
There is no need to deposit the share capital in a bank account.
Starting a Slovak company in 4 easy steps
You have everything you need for your Slovak company in one place: we’ll set up your company, take care of your bookkeeping and payroll, secure your registered office and help you open a bank account.
The first step is to have an informal chat. We need to talk through business issues and outline possible paths and forms of business. During the consultation, we will answer any questions you may have. If, based on the consultation, we think we can help your business in a meaningful way, we will send you a personalised Price Proposal.
If we both decide during the consultation that it makes sense for us to work together, we will send you a very simple questionnaire about your business and give you instructions for the next step.
We take care of all the administrative stuff. You’ll be in contact only with us. You will only have one thing to do: you will have to certify your signature on the prepared documents with a Notary and return them to us. Don’t worry; for notaries, this is a simple routine task.
We’ll apply for your business licence, register you in the Business Register, and, if necessary, register you for VAT on the basis of the objectives.
Then, once everything is in place, we’ll hand over all the documents and congratulate you on your Slovak company!
By the time we get to this point, you will know exactly what you need to do: keep double-entry books, control an official eGovernment account, provide representation to the authorities, etc.
Accounting Slovakia
Modern, digital accounting office
Avoid the annoying and time-consuming pitfalls of setting up a company in Slovakia.
We’ve got it covered. We cut through Slovak bureaucracy like a knife through butter.
Our modern, digital accountancy practice is for those who want to avoid ’80s-stuck accounting methods in their business. We are for those who want to move with the times because they see its competitive value.
We can help you set up a company in Slovakia and all the administrative tasks that go with it.
Peace of mind and security are what you get from us.
We know the market, local regulations, the business and the legal environment.
We know the complications, so we help you avoid them.
Company formation and accounting are just a few of the many services we provide to make your life easier.
An office, not an agency
All our clients are equally important, whatever their size, and we serve them to the highest standards.
We operate as an office, not an agency.
This means that we don’t work with an ever-changing team of freelance subcontractors but with a close-knit, permanent team of our own.
If you have a one-man accountant, life stops when he or she falls ill. With us, life is always on the go!
If the phone rings, we answer it. If we can’t pick up, we’ll call you back (and not days later). We answer emails within 24 hours. In short: you can communicate with us effectively; we will always be there for you.
No late work, no excuses, no delays. Our work is about punctuality and reliability. It permeates through all our processes.
We often anticipate problems so that we can give you an early warning. We’ll let you know if we spot something and will always try to offer a suggested solution.
All your accounting material will be handled in-house. We get to know you and your company, meaning we will always stay up to date with your current situation.
We’ll help you wherever we can. If you need a marketer, copywriter, web developer, software developer or anything else, we can refer you to trusted professionals.
We pride ourselves on building and maintaining honest and friendly relationships with our clients.
Quick and convenient company formation
On average, completing your new company takes about 10-14 days (our record was 5 days).
The time it takes to complete depends on the activity and structure of your company.
On the other hand, it depends on you: if you send us the materials on time, there will be no delays, and we can make progress.
About me
Hi, I am Ing. Péter Márk Szabó, founder and CEO of Accounting Slovakia.
For me, accounting is not just my job; it is my proud profession, hobby, and life. I am so passionate that I have published material on the subject in four different languages!
I fell in love with accounting in high school before going on to study at the most prestigious university in Slovakia. I graduated summa cum laude in Economics with a degree in Accounting and Auditing.
I was already working actively in the profession during my studies: I was simultaneously working two jobs while starting my first own business.
I founded Accounting Slovakia, spol. s r.o. in its present form in 2018. My goal was to achieve a client base that appreciated the added value in accounting and consulting – who see the accountant not as an unnecessary burden but as a collaborative partner and an essential part of the business.
I consider our current firm size optimal: in the event of illness, we can carry on our partners’ business without any problems. However, we don’t have so many that clients become ‘lost’.
As a new client, your first contact is with me: I personally take over your accounting and transform your operations into our own processes. You will communicate with me, and you will stay in touch with me until everything is up and running. You’ll then be assigned to a colleague who is the best fit for you – but rest assured, I’ll always keep an eye on your company to ensure everything is running smoothly and how it should.
Paper has expired
Why is digital accounting important?
We think it’s terrible that people still keep books on paper today. It is unbelievable that anyone still works like that. It is no longer the 1980s; the times have changed.
The Slovak Accounting Act explicitly supports digital accounting.
The unnecessary and time-consuming manual paper-based bookkeeping is obsolete.
Okay, but what does digital accounting mean?
With digital accounting, all your data is stored and managed digitally. Certain processes are recorded and booked automatically.
Thanks to our mobile app, we save you several hours a month by not having to visit us. You can send us all your invoices electronically.
We can speed up many processes with automation, OCR and AI, for example, by importing invoices. Our software imports the invoices, and we check that everything has been imported correctly. Anyone who does this manually will bill you for x hours. Yet, they won’t be doing reports or educating you because all their time is taken up with manual tinkering.
The same is true for bank statements: there is no time to be flicking through them all. This is also done by software, and we check and monitor it.
Communication and administration with the various offices are also done electronically.
There is a lot of room for error in manual accounting that vanishes with digital accounting.
In modern accounting, it is the added value that is worth paying for, including the constant reporting, preparation and monitoring of plans, etc. All things that cannot be automated and give you great value.
Paper can get lost.
It can get crumpled. It can be stapled to another sheet and thrown away. Coffee will mostly likely get spilt on it.
Or the office burns down. You’re probably thinking, “Of course, that’s not going to happen to me”. But deep down, you know it can.
We have multiple levels of backups. Therefore, data loss is pretty much impossible.
Our cloud service uses military-grade encryption and guarantees reliability that will make your jaw drop.
According to the IT standard used in the storage of backups, the loss of 1 piece of data per 10,000 items is possible every TEN MILLION years.
In addition, your data is stored on multiple servers that are physically separate from each other.
So we can sleep peacefully too.
Imagine the following scenario: a tax inspector walks into your accountant’s office (who keeps paper accounts) and asks for a document.
Your accountant stands up and starts searching through the files, pulling out drawers, rummaging through folders, and flipping through pages.
If you’re lucky, they’ll find what they’re looking for.
If you’re not lucky, the inspector’s whip will crack on you: it’s not the accountant that gets blamed for not finding something; it’s you as the director.
On the other hand, if they come to us for an audit, we will be able to find any of your documents within 10 seconds.
You'll know the financial situation of your company!
We provide you with monthly reports. These will help you make responsible business and economic decisions.
You will always know exactly where you stand economically. Can you meet your targets, or are you exceeding them?
We help you set (realistic) business and tax targets and make sure you stick to them.
We will keep a constant eye on the development of your business.

Having an accountant should not be an unnecessary chore
You WANT to call a good accountant before making big decisions because you know he or she will give you useful advice and care about you.
That’s who we are. It’s our added value that makes us stand out in the market.
“But I’m not interested in accounting, I don’t know anything about it”, you might think.
You don’t have to. You just have to listen to us. We’ll explain in clear terms why what’s happening is happening. We’ll have a common language. We put numbers into words. That’s why monthly reporting, financial planning and setting and then tracking goals are essential. We will evaluate the results together, so you understand and feel a part of the process.
We’ll also tell you honestly if you’re about to make the wrong decision.
An accountant who asks few questions is not a good accountant
Your accountant is your financial partner, and you need to involve him or her in the decision-making. You could say we become your Financial Director.
We will ask you a lot of questions.
Anyone who just does the bookkeeping without a word is a robot, not the help you need.
Anyone who doesn’t ask you also doesn’t care.
If you think that a good accountant is one who doesn’t bother you because they do everything for you, you’re wrong: such an accountant doesn’t do anything for you.
Modern accounting is much more than just typing up invoices. But many ‘trained’ accountants do just that. They don’t understand the background, and why things happen, they simply repeat processes. They don’t understand the process itself; they just do it.
Did you know that you can do accounting in Slovakia without a degree? Nonsense. The market is full of them. So be wary. Unfortunately, you can’t filter them out.
You will only know you have chosen the wrong accountant when they make a painful and costly mistake.
And then it’s too late. The penalty will come, and you will have to pay it. Better not take any chances. It’s in our interest that you succeed: that way, we can work together for the long term, which is a win-win.
What questions will we ask? What advice can you give?
I’ll give you a simple example: if you come to us and say, “I bought this… I bought that… You invested here… you did this…” Then there’s not much we can do about it because it’s done.
However, if you ask before you act, you can be sure to make the optimal decision from a tax point of view.
We will keep asking you questions, to stay updated with what you are planning. That way, we can help you make the right decision.
We need to understand your business inside and out. We need to understand how you operate. If we don’t do that, we can’t help you.
This is where we differ from ordinary accountants: We don’t just type up the invoices; we support your business. You can always reach out to us, and we will respond quickly to any questions you have.
All right, let's talk prices!
No two companies are the same, so we provide an individual quote for each case.
The price depends on the type of company, its size, estimated turnover and volume of invoices, number of employees, etc.
We offer a personal and tailored service, not a product. We assess your needs through a consultation followed by a questionnaire.
Our pricing policy is open and transparent. There are no hidden surcharges or misleading methods when pricing services and calculating the work done. We charge for our services only on the basis of the work actually done. We always take into account the economic possibilities of the client in order to optimise our work and its efficiency.
You can calculate the approximate price of the services based on our price list below.
